Pull up a chair, let's talk SciFi.

Welcome! Whether you're a long time fan or just SciFi curious, this is the place for you!

About The Show.

We think science fiction matters. It's fun, but it's also one of the best ways we have to look at ourselves. Sci-fi takes one piece of our world and asks “what if this kept going?” Sometimes the answer is a warning, sometimes it's something to hope for. Either way, the step back lets us see our own choices more clearly. That's what a story like The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas did for us, and it's the kind of story we want to help you find.

This is an on-ramp for the sci-fi curious. If you've ever felt put off by the “science” in science fiction, or felt like you had to know all the lore before you were allowed in, you haven't missed anything. You probably know more sci-fi than you realize: Jurassic Park, the Marvel movies and Project Hail Mary all count. Once you're in, there's a vast expanse of stories that can blow your mind, change how you see things, and be a lot of fun along the way.

Whether you've read sci-fi for decades or you're only sci-fi curious, you belong here. Pull up a chair. And yes, we end every episode with a high five.

How it Started.

Wondering how this podcast came to be? It all started when Caitlin was telling Rob at a writing conference about wanting to create instagram content about scifi history, female scifi authors, and commentary around scifi, and suggested they collaborate on some posts.

Two days after the conference ended, Rob sent Caitlin a Marco Polo saying he'd had trouble sleeping because his mind had been so full of ideas. And the rest is history!
